WWE legend Doink the Clown will be the star attraction at a Wolverley wrestling event, The Shuttle can exclusively reveal.

Kidderminster-born Global Wrestling Federation Commonwealth champion Jonny Rose will have to keep a straight face in a showdown with the star on Saturday May 26 at the Sports and Social Club.

The clown prince will be arriving in Wolverley direct from the US with his sights on the hometown hero's heavyweight championship belt that 'The Freebird' Rose recently claimed in Cyprus.

Doink has appeared in various incarnations throughout his wrestling career on shows such as WWE Raw and Wrestlemania.

He is known for antics in the ring and his signature circus music intro warning tens of thousands of fans that the clown is in town.

Rose is no stranger to challenging big names in wrestling, having previously gained championship victories over several former WWE stars.

The night will also host a special four man knock out tournament with Cannock-based Dan Striker, 35 year pro Lewis Blain, HCW Unified champion Mike Kash & former Ice Hockey player Slapshot all duking it out for the Wyre Forest gold medal.

Promoter of the HCW event Mr Petey Crockett said: "It’s a huge thrill to have Doink come to our area and we are extremely looking forward to this huge bout between two big names in our sport."

"This is a big night for local wrestling and not to be missed."

Showtime will start at 8pm.
