A WOMAN who transported over 300 blankets to refugees in Calais has thanked locals for their generous donations.

Lottie Clarke, co-founder of Keep Calais Warm, also delivered almost £400 in donations to refugees in the French town.

She made the trip with her father, Mike, and the pair have now said they want to return in the future.

Ms Clarke, aged 28, of Davenham Close, Malvern, said: "We would like to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts, the generosity and solidarity of all of you has completely blown us away.

"The money will be used to buy much needed items for the refugees, including food, emergency care and shelter from the awful conditions, and the blankets will have been distributed to people - sleeping rough in temperatures around -5C - who really really need them."

They also delivered a Christmas tree with the blankets on Monday, December 18.
