TRAINS between Hereford and Worcester are cancelled due to a safety inspection of the track between Hereford and Ledbury.

All trains are currently cancelled from Hereford to Worcester until 7.35pm and from Worcester to Hereford until 9.29pm.

Several trains are also cancelled between Malvern and Worcester. Three trains of the next four are described as cancelled, but the 4.10pm is currently running according to the National Rail website.

The 5.24pm train from Worcester to Birmingham New Street is cancelled but all other services between Worcester and Birmingham appear to be running on time.

Steve Fisher, head of regional services at West Midlands Trains, said:

“Network Rail is investigating an issue with the track between Hereford and Ledbury.

"Trains can continue to run between Birmingham and Ledbury but there will be some cancellations and delays between Worcester and Ledbury too.

“Road transport has been organised to run between Ledbury and Hereford and there is additional road transport available between Worcester Shrub Hill and Hereford.

"In addition, West Midlands Trains tickets will be accepted on Arriva Trains Wales services between Hereford and Shrewsbury.

“The disruption will last until Network Rail engineers have completed their track inspection.

"At the moment we expect this to take the rest of today and would encourage customers to check before trying to travel tomorrow morning.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
