A STONE Age ‘cult’ henge site at Bidford on Avon will be one of the topics that the nationally renowned Archaeology Warwickshire team will be sharing with people this summer.

Heritage and Culture Warwickshire will be organising a series of special events as part of the Festival of Archaeology 2017.

The team recently uncovered a 4,000 year old henge complex that has important ramifications for the study of Neolothic communities, religion and ceremonial practises.

A talk on the team's excavations at the Bidford site will include some of the latest findings, many of which will be shared with the general public for the first time.

The talk, led by Stuart Palmer, manager of Archaeology Warwickshire, is at Market Hall Museum in Warwick on July 20 at 6.30pm.

Tickets cost £5 and can be booked in advance by calling 01926 738959 or 01926 412500.
