A THERAPY dog that works with students who suffer from anxiety has made his acting debut.

The Tudor Grange Academy performance of The Wizard of Oz starred the school's very own therapy dog Ozzie who played the part of Toto.

Ozzie has become a well-known and well-loved member of the school and local community paying frequent visits to Woodrow First School and Webheath Primary School to help students with their reading.

The Wizard of Oz is the iconic tale of Dorothy and her dog Toto, who go on a magical journey down the yellow brick road in the Land of Oz to find the Wizard so she can find her way back home.

Along the way she meets the Scarecrow, Tin man and Lion, her trusted friends who help her on her journey, despite some unfortunate problems caused by the Wicked Witch on the way.

Jodie Bolter, principal, said the show, which ran over two nights, was a huge success.

“I am immensely proud of our students and their fantastic performance (including Ozzie)," she said.

"The show was a huge success with a sell out performance on Thursday and everyone commenting on how professional the students were."
