LACE up for a good cause is the message from the organiser of an annual parkrun in Redditch, who hopes to break the £20,000 fundraising barrier this year.

Organiser of Tag1234, Kevin Parsons, is calling on Redditch residents to sign up to this year’s event around Morton Stanley Park on June 22.

Runners take part in a team of four in a relay, each running 3km.

More than £16,000 has been raised over the last three years and Kevin hopes to break the £20,000 mark this June, raising funds for Meningitis Now.

He said: “Tag1234 is an all-inclusive, family friendly, team participating running event, put on to raise funds for this year’s charity, Meningitis Now.

“A 3km run or walk around the beautiful setting of Morton Stanley Park and a complimentary ice cream to celebrate your achievement.

“You can sign up at tag1234.co.uk or why not come along and support or volunteer.”

The event is for all abilities and all participants will receive a free ice cream when they finish.

There is also a pizza and beer vendor at the end.
