ONE of the most successful song writing careers in the past 70 years is being celebrated in Tenbury.

Oh! Carol the live stage show stops off at The Regal as part of its nationwide tour on Saturday (June 10).

From their humble beginnings in Brooklyn to the dizzying heights of their success in the 50’s & 60’s the song writing genius of Neil Sedaka and Howard Greenfield will go down in musical history as one of the most successful partnerships of all time.

This show is packed full of hits such as Calendar Girl, Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen, Breaking Up Is Hard To Do, Amarillo, Stupid Cupid, The Diary, Laughter in the Rain and of course Oh! Carol.

Their masterpieces were made famous not only by Sedaka but also other well-known performers such as Connie Francis, Tom Jones, LaVern Baker and Tony Christie.

"It's always flattering when talented performers honour my music,” said Neil Sadaka.

“I thank the Oh! Carol team for their homage to the work of Sedaka & Greenfield and wish them continued success.”

The British Theatre Guide said of the stage show: “If you have socks, prepare for them to be knocked off!”

Oh! Carol plays for one night only, Saturday, June 10 at 7.30pm.
