A GROUP of women in Tenbury who have lost relatives or friends to cancer have joined together to form a charity raising team calling themselves ‘The Mistletoe Girls’ and set themselves a £3,100 target.
The local group of friends and work colleagues have already held a very successful Mexican Chilli meal evening at the ‘Green Meal’, Oldwood Farm, Tenbury raising £807.
They held a ‘Rock & Roll’ dance evening with local live band ‘Jake and the Jesters’ at Stoke Bliss Village Hall.
The crescendo of the ‘Mistletoe Girls’ fund-raising activities is planned for May 5 in London where the girls are taking to their bikes and embarking on the Women V Cancer ‘Ride The Night’ 100km cycle ride through the city of London.
All the girls are and have been out on the roads and in the gym getting fit and trim in anticipation for the challenge.
The Mistletoe Girls have a ‘Just giving’ donation page that has already raised a remarkable £2,218 but are keen to attract further contributions that can be made via www.justgiving.com/companyteams/mistletoegirls. All money raised will go directly to Women V Cancer.
