?A Droitwich school has developed its well-being programme by marking International Yoga Day.

Pupils at Westacre Middle School have been taking part in Yoga lessons since the turn of the year and also spend ten minutes each day involved in simple yoga relaxation exercises. Following the success of the initiative, the school's staff and pupils then decided International Yoga Day was the perfect opportunity for their first ever whole-school yoga session.

It involved over 400 members of the school community completing sun salutations on the school field on Wednesday, June 21.

Deputy headteacher Catherine Doolin said: "The Yoga sessions have given the children strategies to help combat any anxiety and improve their overall well-being.

"We have seen a positive impact on the children's attitude to learning and our Yoga Club is becoming very popular."
