DEDICATED members of four Worcester slimming groups braved the snow and ice to get weighed in this week.

Samantha Crosswell, aged 42, invited Slimming World members from Norton and Cherry Orchard into her Barnes Way home and erected a sign with lights to guide them after finding she had nowhere to hold her usual sessions.

Ms Crosswell, who holds three groups at Cherry Orchard Day Centre on Mondays and Tuesdays and a further group at Norton Hall also on Tuesdays, found that the centre was closed and the hall was inaccessible due to snow but 63 of 88 members still made it to her improvised groups.

During this week she handed out 13 weight awards including two target achievement prizes and an incredible 9st weight loss honour.

“I’m so proud of them and want to shout it from the rooftops,” she said.

“It was absolutely fabulous. It is a really difficult time of the year for slimmers - lots of temptation about. I am just really chuffed for my members that made it through and so many had done such good work.”

She added that even members that had not done so well with their weight loss turned up to start a “clean slate”.
