A CHRISTMAS swan feed will run for the fourth year running.

The feed will be assisted by the mayor of Worcester, Cllr Steve Mackay, and the mayoress, Alison Mackay on Saturday December 30.

The big feed will be held on Boxing Day, Thursday December 28, Saturday December 30 and Monday January 1, at 2pm on South Quay.

Each day, The Swan Food Project will be donating a sack of floating pellets to the public to give to the swans.

Marilyn McCarthy, organising the event said: "It’s a way of thanking everyone for feeding the swans this year, and buying our small bags of swan pellets.

"It gets us out of the house during the holiday period and brings us together as a community to celebrate our beautiful swans.

At other times small bags of swan food can be bought at the Cathedral gift shop, Cafe Severn, Brown’s at the Quay, Cafe Afloat, Jandco, Birch Hill Dog Rescue in Reindeer Court and Pump House Environment Centre.

Profits buy extra food for the swans.
