THURSDAY February 6 saw the start of a new year for the members of Spadesbourne Ladies Club – a year full of interesting talks, outings and lunches.

The club ended last year with a day outing to Cirencester for a Christmas lunch and retail therapy in the quaint shops.

At the last meeting, the group had a very ‘eye-opening’ insight to a Victorian Christmas day, which was followed by mince pies, coffee and Christmas presents.

On February 6, the club had an excellent turn-out by its members despite the terrible weather and enjoyed the evening walking down memory lane with the Birmingham Hippodrome.

It was a delight for members to see a galaxy of stars ranging from Gracie Fields, Laurel and Hardy, to Cliff Richard and the Beatles, on a slide projector, all singing and dancing to audiences that may have been attended by any one of them.

At their meeting on March 6, they had their AGM followed by a talk given by Tanzania Spectacular.

For further information or a general chat regarding the club, ring Jill Betterton, secretary, on 01527 872601.

New members are always welcome, and everyone is encouraged to join and see what Spadesbourne Ladies can offer you.
