SYLVIA welcomed everyone to the meeting and thanked the tea duty girls Sandra and Amy. Five apologies were accepted and birthday cards were given out to Sylvia and Sue W.

The Lickey Hills walk and lunch proved to be a very successful venture and luckily not too muddy. Rosie, Dianne and Norma enjoyed their visit to Sidemoor WIs birthday party. Arrangements were made for members to attend Finstall and Cofton Hackett’s party and another walk was finalised for early April at the Arrow Valley Country Park.

The next meeting of the craft club will be at Sue K’s on April 16 at 2pm.

April’s Culture Club meeting will be at Hillers Garden and Plant Centre to include lunch and shopping.

The skittles team had a successful last match of the season where the team won by 9 skittles.

Michael Hardwick, our speaker for the evening, entertained us with a talk about Spetchley Gardens. The gardens, near Worcester, are privately owned by the Berkeley family and are open to the public during the summer months. The Berkeley family is a very old family whose members have helped to shape history over hundreds of years. Spetchley Park was originally bought in 1605 by Sir Rowland Berkeley. The present gardens were developed in Edwardian times by sisters Rose and Ellen Willmott.

Ellen Willmott was tutored by Gertrude Jekyll, the famous garden designer.
