BROMSGROVE Hockey Club held its annual dinner dance at Grafton Manor with one of the highest numbers of members attending in recent years. After the meal the chairperson gave an update on the progress of the new pitch which has taken many years of fundraising and grants, which will be ready for the start of the new season in September and a grand opening night is planned.
After the awards being presented, thanks went out to all the people in the background who keep the club running.
Then Mr Mark Robinson presented a special trophy to be presented each year for the member who the committee thinks has contributed the most to the club during the year, the Alan Morris Trophy.
Alan, who lost his battle to cancer, gave so much to the club especially with the younger members coaching, etc. The trophy was presented to Tracey, Alan’s partner, and his mum and dad to keep for the first year.
Sheila Morris is having a Macmillan Coffee Morning on Sept 25 with kind permission of Fairfield Villa Football Club.
