AT our June meeting, 26 members attended.

We welcomed back Jean Miac, Margaret Wheeler and Normal Wilkinson who were all looking so well after their various operations.

We also sang Happy Birthday for our president Millie Harries, the only birthday among us this month.

We heard a very full and comprehensive report on the AGM from our link representative – thank you, Maureen.

Final details of our river Severn Trent trip in August were agreed, as were arrangements for a Jubilee tea at our July meeting.

Members were asked to wear something red, white or blue (or all three) for the occasion, if possible.

After the usual business part of the meeting, we were entertained by Bob Bibby with a talk about his experiences on his Worcestershire cake and ale trail. What energy to walk the length and breadth of the county.

Many of us remembered the cafes andinns mentioned byhimandthe towns and villages in which they are to be found.

Starting in Malvern, on to Shelsley Walsh, Tenbury Wells, Bewdley, Droitwich Spa, Pershore and a lot more in between, before going back to Malvern.

Interspersed withmanyanecdotes and groan-worthy jokes, it was a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.

Bromsgrove WI meets at the Masonic Hall, Churchfields, on the second Tuesday in the month at 2.15pm.
