TALENTED young dancers hope to step up to the mark when they perform in the finals of a national dance competition.
Dancers from the Harlequin Stage School, based at Perdiswell Young People’s Leisure Club in Worcester, are training hard ready to take part in prestigious All England Dance competition in London later this month.
About 100 dancers are taking part in 70 dances at the finals at the Peacock Theatre in London’s West End, which happens every two years.
The youngsters are aged between six and 18 and take part in ballet, modern, contemporary, character, tap and song and dance.
Paula Dymock, Principal of Harlequin Stage School, said: “ To give these talented children the chance to perform on a West End stage and compete at the highest level is very exciting.”
Before the finals, Harlequin will be performing a showcase of many of the dances at Bishop Perowne High School in Worcester on Sunday, July 12.
The finals take place between Thursday, July 23 and Saturday, August 1.
Tickets are available from the school.
