BREAKING: Tyre factory now blazing

A TYRE factory in Malvern is still up in flames.

Fire crews are at the scene at the Auto Tyre and Battery Company on Spring Lane.

Roads around the site are also closed.

An emergency call was made at 7.34pm and crews are still at the scene.

It is believed that 50 per cent of the building is involved in the fire and police have made a 100 meter cordon around it.

Neighbouring buildings are also being hindered by the fire and it is believed some residents do not have any water.

An eyewitness at the scene said: "There is still a lot of black smoke in the area and you can't get onto Spring Lane from the A449.

"It has died down a bit since it started but all the fire crews are still here," she added.

We live in barnards green and heard a loud crack and noticed that a very large plume of dark black smoke was travelling in the air over the malvern link area.
We drove over to see where it was and the closer we got the thicker the smoke and witnessed flames shooting up into the air at least 50ft high, there was the remains of burning rubber falling all around the area and police advised the public to evacuate the area.
