LIKE Councillor Colella and Brian Lewis, I am fed up with the situation as described by your article (Fed-up Tories quit party, Advertiser, February 19). Like them I am a true blue – I have been all my life.
But this Tory council of ours is not in the habit of listening to their supporters.
Especially parish councils, of which they want to disband in favour of people they put in place by their good selves.
Where is the democracy in that?
They would also like to keep money designated to the parish councils for their sole use instead of giving it to the parishes as the government intended them to, as described in the article.
This council ignores not only its own government but its own supporters – the Market Hall was a good example.
Also, on another front, who would sell a perfectly fit-forpurpose building, that is the present council offices, to move to somewhere that is going to cost more.So I say to the councillors that have resigned, I wish you every success and am grateful that someone has seen the light and common sense.
