I AM all excited after reading about the trapeze artist who is apparently booked at the princely sum of £26,000.

He or she will appear in the high street with the high wire strung between two of the still-to-be there earth-moving machines.

The show will be spectacular and I hope there is a big crowd turnout to ensure the taxpayers of Bromsgrove get value for money.

There will be jugglers who will juggle with our money, magicians who will make our money disappear, monkeys who will run away with our money and clowns who will waste it.

Not that I dislike circuses mind, but to have to subsidise one to the sum of £26,000 does slightly, ever so slightly, make one wonder how we found such a large sum of money when everything else is being cut back, slimmed down or closed.

The only good thing I can see about the whole situation is the clowns won’t cost us a penny. They are the likely lads who thought up this idea.

Get there early on July 19 to ensure a good viewpoint and help clap the clowns for the spectacular extravaganza we are all paying for.
