I WELCOME the success achieved by many young people in Bromsgrove – and the support given to them by their families and their teachers.
However, there is one group of pupils in Bromsgrove’s schools who are being left behind – the most disadvantaged pupils are less likely to get five good GCSEs here in Bromsgrove than if they lived over the border in Birmingham.
If we want our country to be a place where everyone has the opportunity to succeed, it’s critical that everyone has the chance to succeed at school and reach their potential.
At the moment for the most vulnerable group of young people in Bromsgrove that isn’t happening and they are being left further behind.
Tom Ebbutt, Labour Party candidate for Bromsgrove
