I SHARE the frustration, recently expressed by Mr Slaughter, at the delay in publishing the results of the road enhancement consultation exercise. I have been pressing for this since Christmas.

I have now seen a draft of the report which will soon be in the public domain.

The next step will be deciding on a plan of action which reflects the wishes of the public within the constraint of what is technically feasible.

This will not be an easy task, as there is a wide divergence of opinion expressed as to the best way forward.

Not all suggestions are technically feasible and some are not within the local authority powers to deliver i.e. ‘keep the Raven as a hotel’.

After the results of the consultation have been published, a scheme will be prepared aimed at meeting the wishes of as great a number of residents as possible. I can assure Mr Slaughter funding for the chosen scheme is already budgeted for.
