WAS dismayed by the comments last week by Labour Party parliamentary candidate Tom Ebbutt. He claims that disadvantaged pupils in Bromsgrove are being left behind and that they would do better if they were educated in Birmingham Is this the same Labourcontrolled Birmingham which failed to prevent the spread of Islamic extremism until forced to by the Government?
Is this the same council whose children’s services were found by Ofsted to be inadequate every year since 2009? Is this the same Labour Party whose local councillors were in denial over the sexual abuse of 1,400 of the most disadvantaged and vulnerable young people in Rotherham?
When the Labour Party suggests that only it can be entrusted with the care of the disadvantaged, I’m reminded of the wolf who applied for the job of shepherd, saying it had always been concerned with the welfare of lambs.
