The hullabaloo of another election has passed and while conversations over the past few days about voting changing nothing and being a waste of time have left me feeling downhearted, I feel the roar of Bromsgrove voices has amounted to nothing more than a whimper.

Recently I met our Labour councillor. Not really having time, but as he was on my doorstep I thought I’d hear what he had to say. We discussed parking charges, shop rents, selling land for houses without the widening of a single road in Bromsgrove which led me to commit to giving him my council vote but making a promise to see him in three months to see the difference he had planned to make.

Well I didn’t vote labour in the General Election but you did get my vote for councillor.

You were right for 14 years I have never seen the other guys and probably never will.

Unless it’s on the telly and I’m graced his guest appearance on the news or question time! Meanwhile, here’s to another five years with more houses, no more roads, increased parking charges and shop rents and a deafening silence where Bromsgrove’s voice should be.
