I WANT every resident in Bromsgrove Constituency to write to Cllr Margaret Sherrey, who’s leader of Bromsgrove District Council. In the letter I want you to ask why an alleged £1.2millions of Govt New Homes Bonus money that was paid to the council to be used in all communities for allowing housing in their areas, has now been banked and ring fenced.

I have received a letter from a councillor that stated that a proposal was put forward and votes were cast, not to pay this money to communities now and instead use it for the Council in their move to Parkside, replace the Dolphin Centre and attend to the town centre.

A vote should never have taken place because this money was already agreed beforehand to be spent on all communities only.

The intention of the NHBonus scheme was for BDCouncil to consult with any communities affected by new homes being built and then pass on the NHB Money that they received from Central Government to those communities.

BDCouncil have simply placed the money in a pot for their own disposal.

People from villages and areas across the Bromsgrove District have signed a petition to the leader, including Hagley, Barnt Green, Catshill, Alvechurch, Hopwood, Belbroughton, Clent and Wythall, asking for this money....

Last week Councillor Sherrey is on record for saying that money was spent in Clent on an Outdoor Gym for allowing housing.
