It’s time to save the greenbelt

I am a mother of three who has lived in the Bromsgrove district most of my life and in the past I have worked as a countryside volunteer. Having brought my children up to respect the countryside and wildlife around them, I am now teaching my grandchildren the same. I have experienced inner city children seeing the countryside for the first time and their amazement of what it offers. Also I have seen our greenbelt disappearing around us in Bromsgrove as we live in a beautiful area that offers us a wide range of wildlife.

We should be preserving it for future generations to come.

As one person I do not see how I can fight the progress that endangers our greenbelt, wildlife and our quality of life, but I cannot just sit back and accept it.

I am joining the residents of Stoke Prior fighting to save our little piece of countryside from the developers Bellway Homes who, along with BDHT, want to develop on greenbelt land in Shaw Lane. I hope all voters will all join in to help save our greenbelt.

I understand the need for homes, it is after all what we all work and strive for, but quality of life, the environment and wildlife also have to be considered.
