ON Tuesday, June 5, I was suffering from severe internal chest and back pain.
I calledNHSDirect to discuss the problem and literally within minutes an ambulance arrived.
Fortunately,mycondition was not lifethreatening and Iamsubsequently getting treatment.
The thorough efficiency and care shown to me by the paramedics and NHS Direct was 100 per cent and I want to sincerely thank them. We are so fortunate to have them nearby and I truly hope that budget cuts do not close their unit?
If it was a heart attack my life would have been saved.
The NHS gets a lot of bad press, but in this case I was totally impressed and I want to thank them via your newspaper.
