Estate is ignored
1:00pm Saturday 4th August 2012 in Your View
IN response to the grass verges letter in a recent edition.
I agree with the writer – people use the grass verges to park on but make large holes. It doesn’t make the estate look good.
I have contacted the county council a number of times, and they say they are being maintained.
I have been living in the King George estate since 1979 and have never seen anybody from the council come out to do maintenance work.
Grass verges are not the only problem. The lighting is not very good, there is dog mess, and cars are speeding around the area. The estate is like a racetrack. I have asked again and again for someone to take action, but got nowhere. They keep saying they haven’t got the funds, but the residents here are council tax payers, where has their money gone? I feel we are treated very badly – no one seems to want to doing anything for the King George estate.
I hope my neighbours can come together and begin a petition to show the strength of feeling.
Fred Stanley, Sidemoor.
