TO celebrate the completion of three new tennis courts, complete with floodlights, Bromsgrove Tennis Club is offering free membership to one lucky reader with 25 runners-up prizes of a free two-hour group coaching session.
Bromsgrove Tennis Club is a Clubmark accredited tennis club and is situated in Aston Fields, off St. Godwalds Road.
The club has eight hard courts, all of which are floodlit, and a practise wall. The club house has a well-stocked bar and is a good place to relax over a quiet drink. The numerous TV screens around the clubroom keep you up-to-date with live sporting events and many social events are held there.
It caters for tennis players of all abilities and as a Performance Club offers excellent facilities for juniors and seniors alike.
It offers a structured coaching programme for juniors, including mini red, mini orange and mini green tennis for up-and-coming players and performance coaching for better players. In addition, there are adult beginner coaching sessions held on Wednesday and Thursday evenings and Thursday mornings.
Regular doubles tournaments, suitable for all standards, are held throughout the year, and don’t worry if you haven’t got a partner as many of the tournaments have pairs organised on the day.
It runs seven men’s teams, six ladies teams and four mixed teams in the winter Herefordshire & Worcestershire leagues, and five men’s teams, five ladies teams and four mixed teams in the summer so there are opportunities for members of all abilities to play competitive team tennis throughout the year.
Tennis is played every day of the week. Club night caters for members who just want to turn up and mix in, ladies and men’s team practice sessions are held for those that want some team practice and junior and adult coaching sessions are also held. Team matches are held throughout the season at weekends and during the week.
Despite all the organised dates, there are plenty of opportunities when you can simply turn up and play arranged matches with other members.
You can read more about the club and everything that is going on, including how to join, at its new site www.bromsgrovetennisclub.co.uk.
