BROMSGROVE Tennis Club’s Ladies F enjoyed a comfortable 4-0 victory over David Lloyd Worcester C.
Claire Andrews, playing only her second match, teamed up with Ann May and they only lost seven games in all four sets.
Avril Pugh and Jean Thomson were on equally good form during the win and did not drop a set.
In other weekend fixtures, Saturday saw the Mixed B edged out by a strong Woolhope Di Inchly and Alan Colley just lost out in their first rubber going down 3-6, 6-7, but bounced back to win 6-2, 6-3 in their next.
Husband and wife duo of John and Linda Casey lost in three sets, 2-6, 6-2, 4-6 in their first rubber and then 3-6, 4-6 in their second.
In the Men’s Division Three, Phil Boardman with Ash Rutter and John Dudek with Alistair Liddle both saved match points to get maximum points from their clash against Stourbridge D.
Boardman and Rutter beat their opposite first pair 6-2, 3-6, 7-5, before completing a 6-4, 6-1 win.
Dudek and Liddle also had a clear victory against the second pair 7-5, 6-3.
Their final rubber against Stourbridge’s first pair saw the closest contest of the day.
After losing the first set 4-6, two nail-biting tie breaks were won to complete a welll Winners: Bromsgrove Ladies’ F team of Claire deserved success.
