GEOFF Cottrill and Nathan Crewe tasted victory at the Welsh National Rally Championship.

The duo’s MG Metro performed with 100 per cent reliability in challenging conditions to win WR1 car class.

Crewe, a successful driver in his own right, had made the switch to co-driver comfortably as he read the pace notes and allowed Cottrill to push the car to its limits.

Cottrill said: “We have to run in with the World Rally Cars because of the technical regulations, so to win this class is particularly satisfying.

“Nathan was co-driving and reading the pace notes, something which is difficult to get right, but he did a good job.

“He is a successful driver so that may make things a little more challenging, but enjoys sitting in the passenger seat for a change.”

The pair are sponsored by Dome Motorsport, Wychbold Garage, and Morris Lubricants.
