DROITWICH Men drew 2-2 at Evesham in the West Midlands Division Two.

Spa went into this encounter looking to avenge the home loss they suffered before Christmas.

They started slowly and found it difficult to the hold the ball in the middle of the park which Evesham exploited to score two well-worked goals.

After the break, Spa pushed further forward with Mike Langston bagging a brace, both from penalty corners.

Droitwich take on Barlaston at home on Sunday (1.30 start).

The Ladies went down 1-0 at Worcester.

Spa started the game quickly against a strong home side after having the previous week fixture against Redditch called off. But both teams began to cancel each other out as the game became congested with the only goal scored being a penalty flick.

The Men’s second team went goal crazy as they saw off Bartlaston 16-1, which lifted them to third in the table. Nick Bates opened the scoring, before Lee Wakelam bagged a hat-trick as Droitwich powered into a 4-0 lead.

Wakelam scored his fourth and despite Barlaston pulling one back, Bates bagged two more goals.

Droitwich came out in the second half at a slower pace but still added another seven goals.

Wakelam scored a fifth with a well-placed low shot, while Bates finished from close range to take his season tally to 20. Dave Hindle claimed his hat-trick from close range. Tommy Ross added another two to make it four goals in five matches.

Luke Wickes got in on the act from close in and left back Robin Lee scored Spa’s goal to make it 16-1.
