DROITWICH welterweight Michael Pardoe has stormed his way again into the Midland Finals of the Amateur Boxing Association Championships.

The 27-year-old, who is a member of Droitwich Amateur Boxing Academy, faces Miles Vale from Leamington in the final – a repeat of last year when Vale won by a disputed split decision.

To get this far, he outpointed Chad Rogers from Dudley in a gruelling first round match, which Pardoe dominated the longer it continued.

Then at Rugeley he beat long-armed Redditch’s Jordan Thompson in a more tactical match to win again by unanimous decision.

Danny Evans missed out on the chance to reach the finals of the ABA Schools Championships.

He lost points to a local fighter in Liverpool at the weekend.

But there was more success at a club show at Stoke-on-Trent where his brother Luke Evans, 15, gave a strong performance in outpointing Stoke’s Reece Smith in a hard fought battle Clarence Hall , 12, made it a Droitwich double with a stylish display to beat Jay Burnett.
