TOM Weston was the star of the show with two victories in Saturday's Worcestershire Point-to-Point even in Chaddesley Corbett.

A combination of competitive racing and fine weather attracted a large crowd which saw the Worcester jockey record his 100th winner between the flags and increased his lead in the Area Championship.

The Hindlip based trainer/jockey recorded his first success on Cold Knight who held off the challenges of his rivals in the Members.

Abi Banks and Hall Kelly made a bold bid to repeat last year's victory but ran out of steam in the home straight and Westons mount was able to coast to victory.

The Rushton/Tollit dynasty has been associated with this meeting for over 80 years and continued with three of Mrs Tollit's grandchildren filling the next three slots with Banks finishing second on Hall Kelly, Phine Banks third on Calusa Caldera, while John Smith Maxwell took fourth place on Jetnova.

Later in the afternoon, Weston enjoyed his second success of the meeting on Soutine in the three mile two-furlong Maiden.

Just four horses lined up for this race which became a match following the halfway defections of Enigmatic Stranger and Mighty Prince.

Mark Wall and Rainbow Trout were hard at work down the back straight whereas Soutine was coasting along in their wake until making his bid for glory in the final quarter of a mile.

The Fisher German sponsored Lady Dudley Cup produced a major surprise with Findlays Find recapturing his best form and that allowed Paul and Myfanwy Miles to take the trophy back to Wales.

Silver Token and Cardinal Rose led on the final bend, but Dave Mansell and Findlays Find were hot on their heels, and their rivals had to settle for the minor places when this combination hit the front between the final two fences.

The Ladies Open was a match between Megan Nicholls on Gwanako and Lucy Turner on Petit Lord.

Nicholls, the daughter of leading National Hunt trainer Paul, set out to make the running on the odds on favourite and they never looked in danger of defeat.

Charlie Dando and Clive Bennett enjoyed their first success together at Brampton Bryan a few weeks ago and their good run continued when Iberico took the Confined.

Having taken runner up spot in the Confined race, Bridgnorth trainer Phil Rowley gained compensation after Mor Brook success in the Restricted later in the afternoon.

Tarby and Hannah Watson led throughout this contest but could never shake off the attentions of Mor Brook on whom Alex Edwards was showing the utmost patience.

The favourite eased to the front in the home straight and was value for his wide margin success.
