DROITWICH RFC Under-15s continued their excellent knockout form when they defeated Worcester 38-0 to lift the North Midlands Cup.

The gifted young team maintained their winning sequence in the competition, which stretches back to the Under-10s.

Rhys Samuel bagged four tries, while there was one each apiece for Freddie Meredith and Kieran Twigg, who also kicked four conversions.

Coach Adam Drew said: “I’d like to applaud our opponents Worcester for a very impressive and committed performance.

“They battled hard and throughout and we were forced us to work extremely hard to score our six tries.

“We took our time to settle in the match, but when we finally showed good composure, we scored some great tries.

“Our record remains intact, and that gives me an immense sense of pride for the boys and club.

“We will now re-group ahead of two end-of-season tournaments, the Newbury tensfestival followed by the National Sevens Junior Championships.”

The boys continued their good run excellent form at the weekend, defeating strong South Wales outfit Talywain 33-7.

Several of the squad have earned places at Worcester and Gloucester academies.
