SUNDAY’S Wheatland Point-to-Point will receive the royal seal of approval with the Queen’s granddaughter Zara Phillips in action.

Phillips will be riding the Don Constable owned Master Tim in the Ladies Open.

The horse struggled in heavy ground in Ireland but could benefit from better ground and his run will be followed with interest.

Meanwhile, the Members race has attracted runners from all the major stables in the local vicinity.

Two trainers based in the Bridgnorth area are represented with Middleton Priors-based Belinda Clarke entering Alcanson and Best Director, while Morville’s Phil Rowley selection includes Mor Brook, Ocean Venture and Overplan.

Caroline Robinson, from Sheriffhales, has Shales prefix, Shales Army, Shales Ay Jay and Shales Home Mix plus their stablemate Whistling Straights in action.

Enville’s Diana Williams will be keen to have a winner and What A Bluff could meet that objective following his impressive win at Woodford.

The runners in the Restricted are much of a muchness but Tom Weston has his string in such fine form that it is difficult to look beyond Cold Knight.

You ignore runners from Sheila Crows Hadnell stable at your peril but Abbeyview has a lot to do in the Conditions race, as has Burtolli Boy who should appreciate the conditions.

Kazuri Kate and Moorland Sunset are others to note, but recent form suggests Numbercruncher and Perfectly Willing will prove difficult to beat. The racing action starts at 1.30pm.
