BROMSGROVE Tennis Club Ladies' A recorded an emphatic 6-0 win over David Lloyd in the Summer League.

Sophie Oliver and Rachael Mack led the way with 6-2, 6-0 and 6-0, 6-2 victories in both their contests.

Tina Manning and Sally Franks ran out 6-3, 7-6 and 6-0, 6-1 winners and finally Hannah Weston and Lucy Simper had a tighter time but came away 7-6, 2-6, 6-4 and 6-3, 6-4 victors.

The Men’s A team of Matt Kirkham, Ben Buckley, Greg Leigh-Jones, Steve Halfpenny, Oliver Simper and Matt Smith had a much tighter battle but also saw off David Lloyd.

They came away with a winning draw, taking more sets after rubbers were equal at 3-3.

However this fine winning streak, which put them in contention for the title, came to an abrupt halt against Manor Park on Sunday.

With Steve Jones and Jaspal Saimbi replacing Oliver Simper and Matt Smith they went down 5-1. The Ladies' E were edged out by Hagley in Division Seven, while the B side lost 4-2 to Stourbridge C.

The Mixed C team had a . 3-1 win over Manor Park.
