DROITWICH Spa suffered a resounding away defeat at Worcester Nomads in the Worcestershire Cricket League Premier Division.
Nomads were in initial trouble at 20-2, but recovered well through David White (109) and Ryan Henry (80) to post 290-6 off 50 overs.
Spa’s bowlers stuck to their task on a good wicket, with seamer Kris Corbett (1-38) bowling consistently and leg-spinner Jake Young (1-38) unlucky in his spell.
After early dismissals Droitwich were never in a position for victory, re-adjusting their sights on targeting as bonus points instead.
Connor Grant top-scored with 48, while youngster Jez Hanson (25) again stuck gamely to his task but was last out with Spa dismissed for 197 in the 47th over.
Spa go to Evesham on Saturday and entertain Hagley on Monday (both 1pm starts). They are also hosting a six-a-side competition on Sunday, weather permitting.
