BROMSGROVE must stamp out the errors which are costing them, insists Dan Protherough.

The head coach thought there were positives and negatives after Saturday’s 24-12 defeat to National Three Midland high flyers Nuneaton at Finstall Park on Saturday.

While the Boars were competitive in the first half, they paid the price for errors after the break.

It means that Bromsgrove have won and lost twice at home, a record Protherough wants to improve upon.

He said: “It was a competitive game where we held our own against a team who are second in the league and very well-drilled.

“But it was frustrating because we made several errors and we must start closing out games.

“We were chasing the game when they caught us out with one try, while we missed several tackles for the second and that cost us.

“But there were positives as well.”

The Boars went into the break with a 12-11 lead after fine individual tries by Kieron Walton and Will Harris, with the latter converted by Jon Critchlow.

But Nuneaton hit back with two tries which changed the game.

Bromsgrove now turn their attention to the North Midlands Cup when they entertain local rivals Old Halesonians on Saturday (2.15pm ko).

Their Black Country rivals are two places ahead of Bromsgrove in fourth with a slender one point advantage.
