MATILDA Anderson lead the way for Bromsgrove Swimming Club at the Hampton Gala in Redditch.

Anderson won the under-12s 50m backstroke in a personal best time of 39 minutes and five seconds, which also qualified her for the County Championships.

On Saturday 15th November swimmers from Bromsgrove Swimming Club headed to the Abbey Stadium in Redditch for the ADA Hampton Gala, 5.30pm warm up for a 6.00pm start. Swimmers gave a good performance against some very strong clubs; Redditch Red, Redditch Black, Pershore, Kingsbury and Blythe Barracudas.

Meanwhile, the club held their 200m backstroke distance championships at the Dolphin Leisure Centre, Bromsgrove.

Twenty personal bests were achieved as well as a County Championship qualifying time for Michael Bray.

Third places: Luke Jones – 9yr 1L breaststroke 00:24.61 (PB); Joseph Jarrett – 12/u 50m breaststroke 00:46.28 (PB); Ed Maycock, Seb Perry, Michael Bray and James Hall – 10/u 4 x 1L freestyle relay; Seb Perry – 10/u 50m backstroke 00:43.26 (PB/County QT); Lucy Charles – 9yr 1L freestyle 00:18.94, Ryan Lewis – 11/u 50m breaststroke 00:50.01 (PB).
