TWO riders from Bromsgrove are having a successful season in the West Midlands Cyclo Cross League.
Former members of Wyre Forest CRC but now riding for trade team Jewson, Phil Blacker and Lorenzo Buratti were in action at last weekend’s round promoted by Malvern CC on a predominantly flat grass land course at Holt Heath.
With the ground turned to mud by previous races and the addition of a few short climbs and steps at the end of each lap the field of seniors, veterans and under-23s was soon strung out, with Blacker leading his V40 category and Buratti following close behind.
After almost an hour’s racing, 110 competitors finished with Blacker in 12th and first in his age group and Buratti crossed the line in 25th overall and sixth in the V45 age group.
Their next race will be on Saturday at the Mallory Park racing circuit.
