BROMSGROVE Sporting manager Paul Smith has hailed match-winner Jozsef Jakab.

The veteran striker, 35, bagged the winner as the Rouslers edged out Nuneaton Griff 2-1 to keep their title challenge in the Midlands Football League Premier alive.

Smith said the Hungarian hitman, who is set to return to his native land to celebrate Christmas, is a shining example for the squad.

He said: "Jozsef is a great example to all of the younger guys in the squad.

"He's a very good player but he also never complains despite being mainly used as substitute and is great in training.

"We now have got strength in depth and he's the best example of that.

"We were dominating the game and Sam Wills had missed a penalty but Jozsef scored a great goal to make sure we won it."

Forward Liam Molesworth returned to action for the Rouslers after the club received international clearance.

The Bromsgrove-born lad has been playing for Swedish Division One side Athletic FC United, whose season has ended.

Molesworth is set to be available until February, when he is expected to return to Scandinavia for pre-season training.

A former pupil of South Bromsgrove High School, he also played for Adelaide Blue Eagles in the FFSA Premier League.

Molesworth's arrival also helps fills the gap left by the departing Aaron Daniels, who left the club last week.

Smith added: "Liam's arrival is great timing with Aaron leaving.

"I had been looking for a replacement and two days later to get Liam's international clearance was a huge boost.

"He's a quality player who will be very handy over the busy Christmas period."

Nuneaton Griff have made a seven-day bid for defender Chris Sockett.

Meanwhile, Bromsgrove, who played Southam at home on Tuesday night, go to Bolehall Swifts in the Midland FootballLeague Challenge Cup on Saturday (3pm ko).

On Good Friday, the Rouslers entertain Studley (11.30am ko).
