HEAD coach Dan Protherough says he’s not getting too carried away by Bromsgrove’s four-game winning streak.

The Boars go into their winter break on a high after defeating Bournville 35-19.

That means the Finstall Park outfit are well-placed in the National Division Three Midlands.

Despite being in sixth, they are just a few points behind many of the teams in the top five.

Protherough said: “We’re not getting carried away by our run but we’re going to keep doing what we’ve been doing. We’ve got a good week off and we’ll prepare for Sutton on January 3.

“All week can do is take each game as it comes, we tried to look too far ahead earlier in the season and got caught out.”

Bromsgrove gave away too many penalties against Bournville and the Birmingham-based side edged into 9-0 lead.

But tries for Bobby Green, Phil Horton, Jamie Tsang and Jon Critchlow turned the game.

Critchlow maintained his excellent form with the boot, putting away penalties and tries.
