DROITWICH Spa will be looking to bounce back when they tackle relegation-battling Kenilworth Town KH away on Saturday.

Spa suffered a 3-2 defeat at home to Chelmsley Town, a second successive defeat which leaves them still in need of points to escape relegation from Midlands Division Two.

The team, managed by Wayne Oliver and Mark Owen, are fourth from bottom but do have a nine point gap over Saturday’s opponents, who are second from bottom.

“We’ve got nine games left and I think four wins will be enough to make sure we’re safe,” said Oliver.

“This is an important match for us, it’s a must-win and hopefully we can get the three points.”

Spa will be hoping to bounce back from a disappointing defeat after they allowed a 2-1 lead to slip against Chelmsley.

Droitwich were without James Lemon, who had been called up for Worcester City in the Conference North.

But Nick Seabourne and Graham Pardoe scored as Spa went into the break 2-1 ahead, only for Chelmsley to hit back.

Oliver added: “We kept playing looking for more goals instead of protecting our lead and it cost us.

“We didn’t play anywhere the level we have been playing recently and it has cost us.

“It’s disappointing because we’ve played two of the best sides recently and done well.”

He added: “James is Worcester’s player but we would never stand in anyone’s way to play at a higher level.

“The partnership between Worcester and ourselves works well, Worcester’s young lads get a chance to play and Mark can keep a close eye on them.”
