THE week started well for Bromsgrove Tennis Club as the Ladies B Team cruised to a 6-0 victory over Ombersley A to maintain their position at the top of Division Three of the Summer League.

The only setback was when Hannah Weston with Kelly Kenward dropped their opening set before bouncing back 6-1, 6-1.

Sophie Oliver with Ann Banner and Debbie Oliver with Joan McGregor has no problems with straightforward wins.

Sunday saw the Men’s A team take on Manor Park B in the Aegon series.

After beating them 6-0 last week in the Hereford and Worcester Division One. it was no surprise when James Griffiths, Matt Kirkham, Steve Halfpenny and Adam Dudek repeated the score.

The Men’s B team travelled to Worcester for a Division Three Aegon match and repeated the score of 6-0 to maintain their place at the top of the Division.

Steve Jones paired up with Ollie Stratford and Voitek Niedzwiedz with Ash Rutter to win the doubles.

However, it wasn’t such good news for the Men’s E Team who were outclassed in a 5-1 defeat to Boughton D who had some strong Worcester University players turning out for them.
