LUKE Jones lead the way for Bromsgrove Swimming Club at the Stourbridge Open Meet.

Jones was part of a quartet from the club which included Jasmine Kilmartin, Seb Perry and Millie Ryall, who were accompanied by Gail Vickers.

Jones came away with a trophy for the 10 years male 50m breaststroke.

Ryall earned a new personal best in the ten-year-old 100 metres individual medley.

She also recorded her leading time in the 50m backstroke, while Kilmartin took fifth place.

Ryall set another personal best time in the 50m breaststroke and 50m butterfly.

Perry earned second place and a personal best time in the 11 years 50m backstroke and there was a personal best for Jones in the 10yo 50m freestyle.

The club also had members in action in round four of the PGL League at the Dolphin Centre.

Up against very tough teams, with adrenaline rushing, determined swimmers achieved ten first places and 15 second places in the 60-race gala.

Jacob Elliot won the first race of the gala in the 13/14 50m butterfly (35.82s PB).

There were also wins for Madison Allard in the 12yo 50m backstroke (42.26s PB), Luke Culwick in the nine-year-old 25m freestyle (18.89s PB), Ed Maycock in 11yo butterfly (19.01s PB), Molly Irons in 11yo 25m backstroke (20.30s PB) and Ryall in 10yo 25m breaststroke (25.10s PB).

As ever, the boys’ relay teams worked hard to win all of the 10yo and 12yo relays.

In the 10yo 4x25m medley relay, there were victories for Michael Bray, Jones, Maycock and Thomas Powell.

Maycock, Thomas Powell, Cyrus Powell and Jones won the 4x25m freestyle relay.

There were also wins for James Maycock, Tristan Gee, Elliot and Ryan Lewis won the 12yo 4x25m medley.

There was success for Elliot, Ryan Lewis, Gee and James Maycock in the 12yo 4x25m freestyle relay.
