BROMSGROVE took another big step towards a top-half finish in Birmingham League Division One with a 94-run win over Harborne.

The Boars may have dropped down to eighth but they wideneded the gap between themselves the relegation zone and kept the pressure on the teams above.

Captain Mark Evenson won the toss and opted to bat first, and the Boars set their stall out by posting 276 all out in 59 overs.

Opening batsman Jayden Levitt anchored the innings with 111 runs off as many balls at the top of the order.

He was also well supported by contributions from Ryan Pedley (36), Tom Green (37) and James Ganderton (30).

Harborne were then dismissed for 182, despite 56 runs for Guriq Randhawa.

Worcestershire all-rounder Alexie Kervezee (4-53), Graeme Whiles (3-23) and Ganderton (2-43) all took wickets.

Bromsgrove have five games of the season left and will be aiming take advantage of a return to the win/lose system to move up the table.

The Boars face a tough challenge this weekend at home to Old Hill, who are third in the table (noon start).
