UNHAPPY Barnt Green skipper Andy Sutton couldn't hide his frustration this week following his side's 186 run hammering at bottom of the table Brockhampton.

Chasing a total of 263 for six, the Green found themselves removed for a humbling 77 all out.

The Green's cause wasn't help by a 15 minute thunderstorm which caused a delay during their reply.

But Sutton offered no excuses for the manner in which his side collapsed from 75 for five to 77 all out.

He claimed: "A total of 260 was very chaseable when we got the bad side of a rain break which made the ball nibble a bit and move about.

"But Brockhampton's bowling wasn't that good to bowl us out for 77, it was more a lack of application from our batsmen.

"We have to learn - and learn quickly - that we're not going to play on flat wickets every week, but one's which will turn and seam a bit.

"The game just summed up our season. On our day, we can beat anyone, but to get bowled out for 77, I find a bit embarrassing."

The Green have slipped to fourth from bottom following their defeat to Brockhampton and Sutton has now turned a nervous eye towards the bottom of the table.

He insisted: "We need to buck our ideas up and my main objective now is to make sure we don't get relegated.

"The future's in our own hands, but I feel we need to win two of our remaining four games to be safe".

Sutton found himself without key players Tom Banton, Matt Lamb and Luke Radford for the trip to Brockhampton and wil be keeping his fingers crossed they will be back available for Saturday's visit to Cherry Hill Road from defending champions West Bromwich, while on Monday, the Green must travel to league leaders Shrewsbury.
