PARKSIDE Middle School pupil Jacob Clark is one round of races away from sealing the mini GP 70 title in the Fab Racing British Championships.

The 12-year-old had got off to a flying start, winning the first two race meetings to go him at the top of the leaderboard.

Rounds three and four proved a little more challenging but he still held top position.

After a terrific fifth round, which saw him lead two races from start to finish, and coming second in a third by only 0.05 of a second, he maintained his championship lead.

He was invited to race at the British Moto GP round at Silverstone on August Bank Holiday weekend, but his big day was hampered by technical problems.

In round seven, he was sixth in race one and fifth in rounds two and three. The final round is in Llandow in Wales.
