JAMES Ward has left Fairfield Villa and rejoined former club Droitwich Spa.

The forward joined Villa at the start of the season but their Midlands Division Two rivals submitted a seven-day approach last week.

Villa’s co-boss Paul Oakes said: “James contacted me last week saying that he’d like to go back to Droitwich and explained he hadn’t settled.

“Spa were very good to us when we signed James so we waived seven days.

“I am happy with who we have because we have Stuart Hall, Steve Joynes and a young lad we signed from Chaddesley Corbett Alex Dugmore, who has scored a lot of goals for us recently.

“At the moment we’re in a transitional season, so this is a chance to look at players for next year.”

Villa have also signed right-sided midfielder Dan Wallace from Earlswood and Lewis Phillips, who also plays for Chaddesley.

Villa go to Sutton United on Saturday (2pm ko) after last weekend’s clash against Paget Rangers was called off because of a waterlogged pitch.
