BROMSGROVE Swimming Club bagged eight medals at Worcester County Championships.

This year 15 club members achieved qualifying times and were able to compete at the County Championship events held at Wolverhampton Central Baths.

Cyrus Passman qualified for six events and gained two golds in the 200m freestyle (02:38.89) and 400m freestyle (05:30.31), as well as two silver medals in 50m freestyle (00:33.87) and 100m freestyle (01:12.87).

Jacob Elliott (14 years) qualified for 14 events and came away with gold in the 100m breaststroke (0:13.78), silver in 50m breaststroke (00:34.26) and bronze in the 200m breaststroke (02:45.71).

Elliott also gained personal bests in all of the other events in which he competed and also made the finals of the 50m backstroke (00:34.25), 50m freestyle (00:28.50), 100m freestyle (01:03.63) and 100 individual medley (01:10.40).

Jasmine Kilmartin (11 years) qualified for 10 events and brought home a bronze medal and PB in 200m backstroke (02:59.16). She also made it through to the finals in the 50m and 100m freestyle (00:34.06), 100m backstroke (01:24.52) and 100m individual medley.

Michael Bray (11 years) made the finals in the 50m and 100m breaststroke (00:44.62), 100m backstroke (01:21.25), 100m freestyle (01:11.98) and 100m IM (01:22.25).

There were also a host of personal bests for James Maycock, Tristan Gee, Luke Jones, Ben Collett, Ryan Lewis, Seb Perry, Millie Ryan and Chris Perks.

Head coach Matthew Lowe said: “I am very proud of all the swimmers."
